Winter Gift guides for the outdoorsy

4 slightly different gift guides for those who love the outdoors! Below is a list of all my favorite items or things on my wish list & I hope you can get some great ideas for your own!

I love putting these together & I’m so glad to finally share some!

Shoe Spikes- Biggest game changer for those icy trails.

Osprey Day Pack- I love Osprey Bags because they utilize every part of the bag for storage and space. I find these packs fit me the best as well.

Smartwool Merino Base Layer- Always always always have a good base layer for winter hiking. I will always say go with something made out of Merino Wool because of how breathable it is.

Bouncer Highwaist Jeans- Love tighter fit pants that aren’t just leggings. These Jeans were meant for cooler hikes to keep you warm. They also have PFC-free water repellent to help protect against light rain.

Salomon Hiking Boots- I swear by Salomon’s hiking shoes ALWAYS.

Cyclone Rescue Jacket- As you know this is my first rain jacket and I already love it. It’s windproof (this was tested by me and PASSED) and waterproof. I love the fit as well, this can be hard when most jackets look too bulky on me.

OR Winter Gloves- There’s a little bit more to these gloves and two big things that I love are the tapered wrists and loop holes to pull them up with.

Patagonia Puff Jacket- Get yourself a good quality puff jacket, that is all.

Zoleo Satellite Communicator- This is a great item for a peace of mind piece for everyone, especially for solo hikers.

  1. Kula Cloth Biggest game changer for Women who hike or camp, just wipe and your done!

  2. Bug Bite Thing- I’ve had two incidences this year when I could’ve really used this Bug Bite Thing! It’s pretty simple to use and it actually works!

  3. Smartwool Gloves - If you are shopping for a hiker or someone who just loves the outdoors, everyone needs a solid pair of gloves that aren’t incredibly bulky. These ones are super light weight!

  4. Darn Tough Cushion Socks- Two words, cushion socks. They’ve helped me so much with shin splints. These are made out of Merino wool which are the only types of socks I’ll wear while hiking.

  5. Theo Peppermint Coco Cups- Soy and Gluten Free, best little cocoa cups ever. Great reward for the summit during the winter months.

  6. Honey Stinger Energy Chews- The perfect little energy gummi for those longer hikes. Pink Lemonade is my favorite.

  7. Carhartt Beanie- Beanies are a staple item. Make sure you get one that keeps you warm and stays in place on your head.

  8. BodyGlide For Her - Sometimes your sports bra rubs you raw, BodyGlide can help with any where that there is sensitive rubbing

  9. Buff Headwear - I currently own 5. All in great condition & I wear them on every winter hike. They’re lightweight, easy to take on or off and have many uses in keeping me warm.

ENO Double Nest Hammock- I received one of these for my birthday, every camper needs a hammock. They will thank you.

JetBoil Flash- This is used on every camping trip ALWAYS. This is a staple item.

Freeze Dried Meals- Think outside the box and give the gift of Freeze Dried Food. My favorite meal is linked ;)

Campfire Story Cards- I love any sort of writing or talking prompts, these would be a great small gift for anyone.

GoalZero Power Bank & Panel - Give the gift of Solar Power for those who need to recharge.

First Aid & Survival Book- If your camper does not have a survival guide book, it’s a great item to have just in case!

UCO Stormproof Matches- For being one who is not a fire starting pro, I love any sort of matches or starter kits to help me

Rumpl Blanket- Everyone needs that one amazing campfire blanket. This is it.

Petzl Headlamp - This is the one item I was kicking myself for not getting sooner, so good for winter camping when then sun goes down earlier.

Ruffwear Cooling Vest- Provides protection from the sun and cooling through evaporation. This is a must for dogs in hotter climates while hiking.

Wilder Dog Food Bag- My favorite way that I carry Ember’s freeze dried meals on day trips or while camping. Keeps everything together and compact.

Hurtta Ground Blanket- Easy to pack and durable enough for camping to keep your dog comfortable laying on the ground.

Ruff Bars and Freeze Dried Food- I’m here for everything freeze dried when it comes to Ember’s food and treats. Ruff bars are awesome snacks for your dog to have throughout your hikes.

Ruffwear Hydro Frisbee- Hands down Ember’s favorite toy. It can even float on water and is super durable and lightweight.

Hurtta Winter Coat- I wouldn’t normally post a coat on here because I have a dog with a double coat. But Ember HATES to be wet and she hates those snow balls that pack down in her fur.

Ruffwear Life Jacket- Swimming is not Ember’s strong suit so not only does the jacket give me a peace of mind but it has also helped build Ember’s confidence in swimming

Ruffwear Boots- I keep these in my car at all times. Great for extreme environments but also a great little boot to wear if they injure a paw pads.

NightHowl LED Necklace- This is great for when you are camping and need to light up your dog a bit around camp.
